Workshop titles, descriptions and levels are below.
Friday, June 6
7:30pm-9:00pm: The Walk, Embrace and Forward Ocho (Everybody!) - Getting connected, walking
elegantly and smoothly together, starting close, opening up, finishing
close; the core principles of classic Salon tango.
Saturday, June 7
12:30pm-2:00pm: Making sense of the various styles of tango through the use of the back
ocho (Beg-Int) - From milonguero to salon to nuevo, Jaimes will help you
transition fluidly between open and close-embrace while preparing you
for much more challenging material ahead.
2:30pm-4:00pm: The Great Classic Turn Combinations (Intermediate) -
Sometimes you find yourselves
rounding the corner, with an extra six inches of space on all sides, Di
Sarli is playing with Podesta singing, or Pugliese with Chanel, or
D'Arienzo with Maure, and as your heart swells with emotion and your
body pulses with energy, you wonder what your partner will do. Will he
just lead another nice ocho cortado? or will he enter an EPIC TURN for
EPIC MUSIC?
4:15pm-5:45pm - Connection vs. Dynamic (Advanced) - Advanced dancers are intermediate
dancers who have realized how important it is to continually improve on
the basics. This is one of Jaimes' most sought after workshops. The
ultimate mechanics and nitty-gritty technical workshop.
Sunday, June 8
2:30pm-4:00pm: Pragmatic, Effective Musicality for Everyone (Adv Beg)
4:30pm-6:00pm: Boleos That Could Kill A Man (Int-Adv) - Boleos That Could Kill
A Man (And How To Use Them for Good Rather Than Evil).
